SEMONEMO Literacy Subscription Terms

These terms cover the SEMONEMO Literacy subscription provided by Lunchbox Education LLC. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply; these terms prevail on subscription billing, cancellation, and refunds. Consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law are not affected.

1. Plans, prices, and automatic renewal

A subscription is for one student, at Step 1 or Step 2. The price is the same for both levels. Prices are in US dollars.

The 6-month and yearly plans include a discount for the longer commitment. The regular monthly price is $70; it is used only to calculate refunds when a discounted plan ends early (Section 5).

Your subscription renews automatically for the same billing cycle at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. Checkout shows the amount, billing cycle, and renewal terms before you agree, and we email a confirmation with your plan, charges, renewal terms, and how to cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe. Any price change applies only from a future billing cycle, after advance notice that gives you time to cancel.

If you chose the wrong level, we will change it for you at no cost. Physical books are not included; please buy or borrow each month's selected book yourself.

2. How to cancel

• Email team@semonemo.us or message our KakaoTalk Channel (@semonemo.us). Cancellation takes effect when we receive your request, and we confirm it by email. There is no extra notice period.
• To stop the next charge, cancel before the renewal date. If we charge you after receiving a timely cancellation, we will reverse that charge.
• After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. To end early with a refund, see Section 5.
• Not opening materials, not submitting writing, or deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

3. Materials and writing submissions

• Each paid month includes one round: a guidebook and workbook delivered to your child's student page, one writing submission, and feedback on it.
• Materials are delivered on the last Tuesday of each month (US Pacific time). If you subscribe within 14 days after a delivery date, you receive that round right away; otherwise your first round is the next delivery.
• The submission window opens 3 weeks after the delivery date and closes the day before the next delivery. The student page shows the dates.
• Writing should be about 150–300 words, which may vary by grade. Submit typed text or a clear photo or file. If it's hard to read, we may ask for a clearer copy.
• We give feedback only on writing that follows that round's writing guide. One piece can be submitted per round.
• Late work is accepted until the next round's submission window opens and is marked Late. A late submission belongs to its original round; it doesn't add a round or replace the next one.

4. Feedback

Each eligible submission receives, within 7 days of submission:

• A personalized model essay: your child's key ideas rewritten at the target level
• Strengths: specific praise for what your child did well
• A growth roadmap: 2–3 key goals for the next step

We email you when the feedback is ready, and your child can see it on the student page. Revised drafts don't receive another feedback response. Cancelling does not cancel feedback already owed for writing submitted during a paid period.

5. Refunds and early termination

Because the Literacy subscription includes 1:1 writing feedback and digital materials, refunds follow these rules. Requests are dated by when we receive them at team@semonemo.us or our KakaoTalk Channel.

• Within 7 days of a payment, if there is no usage at all for that paid period (no guidebook or workbook opened or downloaded, no writing submitted), we refund the payment minus 5% (payment processing and administrative costs).
• Ending early: 6-month and yearly plans are discounted for the longer commitment, so if you end one early, the months used are charged at the regular monthly price ($70), not the discounted price.
  • Refund = amount actually paid − (months used × $70) − 5% of the amount paid
  • A partial month may be treated as used or prorated by day.
  • If feedback has already been given, a charge based on the number of feedback rounds may also be deducted.
  • The refund is never less than $0.
• Once a round's submission window has passed, that month's service is considered used and is not refundable.
• If you opened or downloaded bonus digital materials received through a promotion, their regular price (for example, the $20 bonus guide) is deducted from the refund.
• Refunds go to the original payment method. We start an approved refund within 5 business days; your card issuer may take longer to show it.
• If Semonemo cancels the service or fails to provide what you paid for, we refund the undelivered part without the deductions above.

6. Student work and sharing

Students keep the rights to their own writing. We use submissions to give feedback and run the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We share a student's writing on social media (such as Instagram) only if the parent gives permission when the work is submitted, with the student's name and identifying details removed. Saying no never affects the subscription or feedback, and you can withdraw permission at any time by emailing team@semonemo.us.

7. Semonemo materials

Literacy guidebooks and workbooks belong to Semonemo. They may be used only for the subscribed student's personal learning and may not be copied, distributed, resold, or used commercially.
