Summer Writing Intensive

The SEMONEMO Summer Writing Intensive runs as a special curriculum of Semonemo's regular program. Before moving on to the fall regular program, students check their essential writing skills while expanding the background knowledge writing requires and improving their reading comprehension. Classes use the essential writing genres for each level (story writing, nonfiction, argumentative writing). Two classes a week with the homeroom teacher allow for deeper reading comprehension.

Who Can Join

Parent reviews

  • “A few months ago, during the school year, my child said they didn't want to go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays — the writing days. … The real problem seemed to be feeling lost about writing itself, and I was looking for help when I found this class. Seoul has plenty of academies, but the homework load is heavy and it's hard to find a chance to focus on writing alone, so this class felt like a good choice. … Following the class, my child learned a structured approach to writing that used to feel vague, and it turned out to be the perfect fit. Thank you for making the one-month course enjoyable and stress-free.”

  • “The classes were always tightly planned, and I loved how the teacher naturally connected each student's work to their essays. … Last year my child often asked for help before starting homework; this year they could handle it all on their own. I'm grateful.”

  • “When I showed it to my child, they asked me to print it right away — so proud. Thank you for making every class fun through the very last one. Thanks to the teacher and a classmate, it was a worthwhile summer break.”

How classes work

Student page
After enrolling, you'll get a link to your child's student page. Join class, find class materials, and watch past class recordings — all in one place. Bookmark it on your child's device.
Homework
Each class's teacher shares homework and feedback.
Absences and make-ups
Missed classes still count toward your enrolled classes. For group classes, your child can catch up with the recording. If something comes up, please let the teacher know in advance — the teacher may not count the class or may schedule a make-up.
